The biggest SQL Server news from TechEd Europe this
year was the debut of SQL Server 2005 Express Edition.
As the newest version of Microsoft SQL Server Desktop
Engine (MSDE), SQL Server Express may not sport all the
advanced features that we'll see in SQL Server 2005, but
it will provide a simple development environment for building
data-driven applications as well as a preview into some
of the features that Microsoft is adding to SQL Server
2005.
Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) solves some serious
security problems but carries with it some connectivity
issues for SQL Server users. XP SP2 is more than a set
of bug fixes or a rollup of Microsoft's latest security
patches. XP SP2 also adds many new features to XP and
changes some of the system's default security settings.
From 23-25 June in Dubrovnik-Croatia 2004 PASS SQL
Server Academy conferential was held in which participate
more SQL Server professionals from Europe and one of them
was Stefan Popovski (member and one of the promoter of
PASS Macedonia) with topic "Error Handling & Optimizing
T-SQL Code in SQL Server 2000“.
